Cetina estuary

The River Cetina is a karst beauty and flows into the sea at the picturesque town of Omiš. The Cetina Estuary, a point where salt and fresh water mix, abounds in saltwater and freshwater organisms and is an ideal habitat for fan mussels, fields of posidonia and eelgrass; Mediterranean wrasse, grey wrasse, sea urchins, starfish and Berghia verrucicornis or Aeolidella stephanieae sea slugs, seahorses, as well as cuttlefish, soles, striped bream, and the most attractive shellfish - the sunset shell.
