The Vis wreck lies several hundred metres from shore, halfway between Pt. Bobina and the entrance to Plomin Bay.
Diving tipsThe site is reached by boat and mooring is at a buoy. The depths in these waters (63 m) are hazardous for anchoring, also because of sunken war vessels and the danger of anchors dropping on explosives. The descent to the funnel at 37 m is via the buoy rope. As the wreck stands vertically on solid seabed, the main deck is 10 m above the bottom. Visibility is often good. The average diving depth along the deck is 52 m. As the stern side of the wreck is covered in fishing nets, diving in this area should be avoided. Ascent and decompression are at the buoy rope. The average descent and dive are 18 mins at the bottom with 43 minutes of decompression.
Marine lifeThe wreck is home to large schools of fish and numerous Mediterranean feather-stars and red gorgonians.
